About Monsignor Scott

Rev. Msgr Scott Daugherty

Monsignor Scott Daugherty was born on June 28, 1954 in Madera, California to Roy Scott and Florence (DalCerro) Daugherty.  He was ordained to the Diaconate in May, 1982 and then to the Priesthood on May 29, 1983. The ordination took place at Saint Anthony's Parish Church in Fresno. The mass was celebrated and ordination conferred by Bishop Joseph Madera.


Prior to ordination Deacon Scott had been assigned to Saint Marys Parish in Delano and then the Catholic Churches of Merced.  Father Scott was assigned to Saint Johns Cathedral in Fresno as Parochial Vicar, 1983-1984, Saint Francis in Bakersfield (1984-1986), Our Lady of Victory parish in Fresno (1986-1987).  In 1988 Father Scott was assigned by Bishop Madera to serve as temporary administrator of Immaculate Heart Parish in Hanford (1987-1988). In 1988 Father Scott was transferred to Saint Mary's Parish in Cutler where he served as pastor until 1993, whereupon he was transferred to Saint Anne's Parish in Porterville by Bishop John T. Steinbock.  


Father Scott became Monsignor Scott when he was named to the papal household by Pope Benedict XVI in 2008 at the recommendation of Bishop Steinbock.
